SPORTS MEDICINE

Our clinic grew out of a passion for the equine athlete. Our sports medicine team works hard to ensure that every horse has the opportunity to reach their full potential throughout their career. They work with horse owners, trainers, and barns to develop a successful program from the ground up including nutrition, exercise programs, and footing. They also utilize cutting edge diagnostics including MRI, digital radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound and bone scan to help determine an accurate diagnosis for horses who are not performing their best. They can recommend appropriate therapy including physical therapy, surgical procedures, and regenerative therapies such as PRP, A2M and IRAP to help athletes return to function in a timely matter following injuries.

INTERNAL MEDICINE

Our medicine service is staffed with experience clinicians and specialists board certified through the ACVIM and AVECCS. They are equipped to deal with any medical situation including GI disease, cancer, neonatal care, respiratory disease, ophthalmic issues, skin disease and geriatric care.

SURGERY

We have three surgeons who are board certified through the ACVS. They have extensive experience in arthroscopy, laparoscopy, orthopedic surgery, airway surgery as well as general surgery including colic surgery.

ROUTINE CARE

We strongly believe in the old adage that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Preventative care including dentistry, vaccinations, Coggin’s testing, health certificates, wellness exams, nutritional consultations, and parasite control programs are the foundation of our practice. They are essential for keeping your horse healthy and help prevent costly illnesses.

REPRODUCTIVE SERVICES

We offer comprehensive reproductive services including routine fresh and frozen semen breedings, embryo transfer, stallion collection, and semen freezing. One of our specialties is dealing with the most difficult problem mares, finding ways to allow them to pass their valuable genetics on to the next generation, even if conceptions have been previously unsuccessful.

ADVANCED DIAGNOSTICS

Sometimes, to obtain an accurate diagnosis, advanced diagnostics are needed. Our hospital is well-equipped to address any diagnostic need. We offer ultrasound, digital radiology, MRI, Nuclear scintigraphy, endoscopy, gastroscopy, as well as an in-house laboratory capable of performing complete blood analysis which allows for rapid results.

SPORTS MEDICINE TRIPS

For our clients in Wood River, ID and Spring Creek/Elko, NV we can see your horses locally!

Pete Knox DVM, DACVS is available for lameness exams (including radiographs and ultrasound), joint injections, routine care, dentistry, and minor surgical procedures. Appointments can be made by calling the clinic at 208-466-4613.

Elko appointment horses need to be brought to Andreozzi Training Stables.

IDAHO EQUINE WEST

Idaho Equine West is our newly founded mobile sister site to Idaho Equine Hospital based out of 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚, 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 and serving the surrounding areas. Our mobile practice offers client's in the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla, WA areas the ability to have equine reproductive care, sports medicine, advanced diagnostics, preventative care, and emergency care.
